Seeking funding to pursue a doctorate or postdoctoral experience is a challenging time in one’s academic career. The drastic budget cuts in the field of History make it essential to acquire the skills needed to develop successful strategies from a professional and personal perspective.
Therefore the session “Academic Tracks: Science and Financing” offers graduate and doctoral students in History at UFRJ a series of tips to begin this process. By learning from the experience of other researchers, tools will be provided for developing strategies that are consistent with the motivations of each student and have a real impact on the environment in which they work.
Dr. Luis Toledo Machado, who organizes the Workshop, is a postdoctoral researcher at the Interuniversity Research Center on Atlantic Cultural Landscapes (CISPAC) and at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). He is currently conducting research at the Laboratory of History and Nature (LabHeN).
