Academic mobility

PPGHIS has welcomed foreign students, researchers and professors from different programs and for long or short stays.

Foreign students may apply to PPGHIS in three different ways: a) by submitting to the master’s and doctorate annual application process b) by requesting co-supervision from any professor of the program that provides research internships at PPGHIS and in Rio de Janeiro, c) by applying to the special path for international applicants, as explained in this website. Under no circumstances may a student join informally. Co-orientation applications must be formally submitted to the program by email.

The application for PPGHIS vacancies and scholarships has an annual calendar, which can be checked on the Call for Applications page. For co-guidance or co-guardianship applications, candidates should forward their requests to this address.

Researchers who wish to join PPGHIS, for post-doctoral internships, research stays, or participating in collaborative projects, may do so through different cooperation mechanisms. Visiting professors with specific pedagogical or research projects can also join, following the rules of UFRJ and the statute of our program.

In all cases, visiting professors, researchers, and students, regardless of the length of their intended stay with PPGHIS, must meet the requirements of the Brazilian Ministry of Labor and Federal Police authorities, about which we provide information and clarifications.
